Sugars are a class of carbohydrates and thus one source of food energy.  Around the world sugar is consumed in abundance, as a sweetener for tea, coffee and other hot drinks, to add flavour to food, as a preservative and in soft drinks and energy drinks, to name but a few.

At Rostrum Commodities, we source and market grains and their respective by-products on behalf of producers and traders to importers and industrial users. We specialize in three different grains: corn, wheat and rice. Corn, or maize, is a large grain plant. Wheat is a cereal grain originally grown in the Levant but now cultivated worldwide. It is the third most-produced cereal after corn and rice, and is grown on more land area than any other commercial food

At Rostrum Commodities, we look for ways to market and source coffees according to our customers’ needs.  We are involved in most coffees which come from the America’s, The Caribbean, West and East Africa as well Asia. The two most common types of coffee beans are the highly regarded Arabica, and Robusta beans. Arabica coffee has a nicer taste and aroma and a lower caffeine content, Robusta coffee however has a more bitter taste and caffeine content around twice as high as Arabica.

We import directly from our meat producers with emphasis on the quality and consistency elements of the product. Consistency in the quality and supply of our product is a commitment we strive to provide to our customers. Our sourcing team communicates with our partners periodically to ensure our product fulfills our quality standard and specification. We also work with our partners to produce new items that meet with the market need.
